New research release

up! just completed a study to explore the lives and experiences of 80 street-involved children living and/or working along the Thai-Cambodian border area Poipet and Aranyaprathet. We worked with social workers from our partner organisation Damnok Toek.

up!s lead researcher, Jarrett Davis, presented an abbreviated version of our “On the Border” research on 17 May at the National Consultation Workshop on Children and Young people in Phnom Penh, along with Terre des Hommes and the Royal Cambodian Government during the consultation called “Enhancing the access to Rights and Protection of Children on the move”.   This consultation workshop aimed to ensure that the rights of children on the move and of other children affected by migration in Cambodia are mainstreamed through the consultations related to the Global Compacts for Refugees and Migrants. Those in attendance were Civil Society and UN organizations along with key members of the Government of Cambodia responsible for children, migration and human trafficking.
